Full Swing Golf was once again the dominant force in golf simulation at the PGA Merchandise Show 2005 in Orlando, Florida. Their stand boasted three latest specification Full Swing Golf simulators running the brand new LS3 Links software from Trugolf along with the 12 newly released golf courses raising the total available to 50! The stand was inundated with visitors from around the world, eager to see the world's best golf simulator in action and to discuss their plans for the systems.
Full Swing Golf was also on show at the 19th Hole restaurant with two simulators running longest drive and nearest-the-pin competitions raising money for charity. A number of delighted visitors went away from the show carrying new drivers, t-shirts or sets of balls, having out driven the competition, or put the ball within a few inches of the pin.
The real excitement from this year's show was in the software upgrades and new releases available for both new and existing Full Swing Golf customers. We will be publishing details of these advances elsewhere on the website, but below is a brief summary of the key benefits.
New Links LS3 Software: Full Swing Golf will be shipping the latest generation LS3 Links gaming software in the next few weeks. Simulators ordered in February will be shipped with the current LS2 version and upgraded free of charge as soon as the LS3 software is available.
Key advances include higher quality graphics, easier touchscreen management of in-game options, handicapping within gameplay, ability to save unfinished games, one-touch shot aiming, individual boosts, adjustment of course altitude, long drive or nearest-the-pin as separate competitions or as part of a round of golf, and the advanced driving range offering full open range, shot choice from dozens of selectable locations, short game practice green and putting area.
12 Course Upgrade Pack: New and existing Full Swing customers can choose to add a further 12 courses to their LS2 or LS3 software, giving a total of 50 to play. Full Swing will be the ONLY simulator in the UK to be awarded these additional courses. Do visit our Course Listing to see the full 50 available.
On-Line Gaming: The Full Swing Golf on-line gaming system was demonstrated again at the PGA Expo. Visiting guests enjoyed direct competitions against golfers in San Diego on other Full Swing units. Other manufacturers are starting to offer on-line gaming in response to Full Swing's advances, but with only a small number of systems in use they will not have enough golfers to create a serious on-line community. Video Analysis & Coaching System: Full Swing Golf customers can choose to install the Full Swing Computer Coach set-up into their system at the point of order, or as an upgrade in the future. A built-in video camera allows users to capture their last 6 swings, replaying any of them via the touchscreen. The videos can be paused, stepped forward or backward frame by frame, or looped through to allow for user analysis. The system comes loaded with ComputerCoach software allowing full analysis and comparison against other golfers. For more information please visit our Optional Extras section.
